WHY TRUST US?

BENEFITS

Guarantee your employees, your students, your clients the following:

Service: While medical care in Italy is quite good, the healthcare system is complex and difficult to navigate for the non-Italian. This, along with language and cultural barriers, can often lead to variable care provided to the English-speaking patient. Our medical coordination services simplify the Italian healthcare system for English-speakers by offering superior customer care.
Navigate assists internationals with any healthcare issues they may have in Italy. Members are assisted by Navigate’s staff of qualified Health Associates, through a network of quality physicians, and with the oversight of Navigate’s US board-certified Medical Director. Members requiring medical assistance may contact Navigate 24 hours a day for in-person service and complete coordinated healthcare. Navigate guides its members through every step of the Italian healthcare system whether their situation calls for a simple primary care visit, a stay in a public hospital, an ambulance transfer to a more appropriate medical facility, admittance to a private hospital, specialist referrals, prescription medicine translation, home-care assistance or, in extreme cases, emergency medical evacuation. Our Medical Director and CEO, Kevin M. Ban, MD, has been working in Italy for the last five years as the Director of the Tuscan Emergency Medical Initiative, a collaboration among Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, the three university hospitals in Tuscany, and the Regional Ministry of Health. He is currently the director of the Meyer Pediatric Trauma Center in Florence.

"Throughout my stay in Italy, I have witnessed a disconnect between the Italian healthcare system and the English-speaking patient. While medical care in Italy is quite good, the healthcare system is complex and difficult to navigate for the non-Italian. This, along with language and cultural barriers, often leads to variable care provided to the English-speaking patient. My goal is to help internationals living in or traveling through Italy find the superior care that exists in this country." Kevin M. Ban, MD
Our doctors work within the Italian system, speak the language, and understand Italian medical culture and practices. More importantly, our medical team is led by an American physician, board-certified in the US, and a member of Harvard Medical School's teaching faculty. We know the Italian system well, know the expectations and demands of our international, English-speaking clients, and are able to guide them through the system and into good health.
Continuity of Care: Most global insurance plans offer 24-hour medical assistance services; however, these services are via telephone and do not include appointment coordination, in-person language assistance or stringent provider quality control. More importantly, they don’t offer the crucial continuity of care that is the key to good health. If you know the Italian healthcare system, you know that being given the address of a nearby English-speaking doctor is no substitute for in-person assistance and continuity of care. Let Navigate be your employees', your students', your clients' health advocate when they need it most -- when traveling abroad.
